The project is focused on the preparation and on the study of aluminium (Al) composite materials made by the unique, yet unverified, technology of low-pressure casting of powder composite mixture into complex casting parts. It is expected that this process will allow overcoming of many disadvantages associated with standard manufacturing methods of Al composites. The result of this process will be fine-grained Al (A1050, AlSi, A6061) composite reinforced with ceramic particles (Al
2O
3, SiC) stabilized by the network of nanometric Al
2O
3 particles. This will be guarantee favorable mechanical properties (especially at high operating temperatures) and structural stability. The aim of the project is systematic study and the explanation of the effects of technological parameters significantly influencing the castability, microstructure and the properties of this manner prepared composites.
